During long-term operation, each car battery sits down and requires either replacement with a new one or recharging from the mains. To perform both actions, you must remove the old battery.
It is necessary
- - a set of keys;
- - screwdrivers;
- - new battery;
- - cotton gloves.
Instructions
Step 1
Park the vehicle on a level surface. It is best to put the car in a garage, as it will be de-energized for some time, that is, the alarm will not work. Stop the engine and remove the key from the ignition. You should also turn off the radio and cigarette lighter.
Step 2
Open the hood. Remove the battery protection. On some models, it is connected to the motor protection. The plastic protection is held on the pistons. It is necessary to gently pull on one end so that the piston comes out and grooves. Thus, take out all the caps.
Step 3
Find the battery. Remove the protective terminal caps. Disconnect the negative terminal first. To do this, loosen the fastening nut so that the terminal can easily be removed. Disconnect the positive terminal in the same way. Never remove the plus terminal first! Otherwise, you run the risk of burning the standard alarm.
Step 4
Locate the battery mounts. On older Nissan models, it is made in the form of two strips connected by two long bolts. If you have such a mount, then you need to unscrew the nuts at the ends of the bolts and carefully remove the strips. Now you can remove the battery from the compartment.
Step 5
If you have a newer model, then the battery is in a special casing, which is attached to the car body with self-tapping screws. Find these screws and unscrew them. Next, gently pull the battery out of the compartment using a slight force. It can be charged directly in the housing. If you want to install a new battery, replace the cover from the old one. When reinstalling, connect the positive terminal first and then the negative terminal.
