The dashboard is one of the most important attributes of the interior of any car. It is on it that such important devices as a tachometer and a speedometer are located. Thanks to them, the driver can drive a car and monitor the technical condition of all power units. However, not every car enthusiast is satisfied with the standard dashboard illumination. The reasons may vary. In this case, it is best to replace the backlight.

Necessary

diode bulbs; - screwdrivers; - soldering iron; - sealant; - building hair dryer

Instructions

Step 1

Drive the car into the garage and stop the engine by applying the parking brake. Switch off the ignition by removing the key from the lock. After that, open the hood of the car and disconnect the "minus" terminal from the battery. You will have to disconnect the wiring, so the entire onboard power system must be de-energized.

Step 2

Move the driver's seat back. Lower the handlebars to the lowest position. Remove the dashboard by carefully disconnecting all contacts. To do this, you need to read the manual for your car. There you can find detailed instructions for removing the device.

Step 3

Place the removed dashboard on a piece of material to avoid accidentally breaking the contacts on a hard surface. Complete disassembly. To do this, you need to carefully peel off the glass, heating its edges. After that, unscrew all the bolts around the perimeter and remove the upper plastic strip that holds on to the latches.

Step 4

Find all the bulbs on the panel. Carefully mark the contacts of these light elements with a marker on the back.

Step 5

Unsolder the legs of all diodes. At the same time, be very careful not to inadvertently disrupt adjacent contacts and tracks.

Step 6

Solder new LED bulbs.

Step 7

If you want to change the color of the arrows, then they must be completely painted, having previously cleaned with a solvent.

Step 8

Remove the old sealant from the glass. Degrease the surface. Apply a coat of new sealant to the edges of the glass and reassemble the dashboard in the reverse order.

Step 9

Install the dashboard by connecting all pins.

Step 10

Check the functionality of the new backlight by connecting the terminal to the battery.
