Most often, the driver's gaze falls on the dashboard to see the indicators of the sensors responsible for the operation of the car. Therefore, the illumination of devices should not strain or tire the eyes. Unfortunately, on most VAZ models, the manufacturer installs yellow or pale green backlights, which can cause severe eye fatigue during a long trip. It is best to change it to a more comfortable one.
It is necessary
- - a set of new diodes;
- - Phillips and slotted screwdrivers;
- - soldering iron;
- - cotton gloves;
- - metal tongs.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a new color for the dashboard. The option depends only on your imagination. Light elements of any color are now on sale. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. If you use the car on a daily basis or for long journeys, it is best to install a soft white backlight that will not strain your eyes. If the machine is rarely used, then you can choose bulbs of any color.
Step 2
Disassemble the torpedo and dismantle the instrument panel. To do this, find all the screws that attach the torpedo to the car body. Their number and location can be found in the manual for your machine. In some models, to remove the dashboard, you just need to detach the trim and lower the steering column as far down as possible.
Step 3
Unscrew the bolts under the trim. Using a flat screwdriver blade, pry up the instrument cluster and pull it out. Be very careful not to inadvertently chip the outer glass.
Step 4
Disconnect all connectors from the rear of the instrument board. Pre-mark the pads to avoid confusion when reassembling.
Step 5
Unscrew all the screws on the back. Carefully detach the glass and plastic gasket. The instrument arrows do not need to be dismantled, but everything must be done carefully so as not to touch them and not knock them down, otherwise you will have to expose and adjust the sensors.
Step 6
Find the location of all bulbs or LEDs on the back of the microcircuit. Circle with black marker for accuracy. After that, carefully unsolder from the microcircuit.
Step 7
Prepare new light items. Check each of them with an adapter or battery. It is best to use LEDs - they consume much less energy and have a longer lifespan. Carefully inspect the metal antennae of each diode - they should be intact.
Step 8
Insert both antennae of the diode into the hole in the microcircuit that remains from the old light element. Solder the antennae gently on the back of the circuit. Install all diodes using this diagram.
Step 9
Reassemble in reverse order. Start the car and turn on the low beam to check the functionality of the installed diodes.
