The dashboard is a place in the car that is always in the driver's field of vision. It is not surprising, because it is necessary to constantly monitor the speed of movement, the oil level and other parameters. For ease of observation at night, the dashboard is equipped with backlighting, which sometimes fails.
Instructions
Step 1
To complete the work, you will need: a flat and Phillips screwdriver and small tweezers. Open the hood and disconnect the negative cable from the battery. After that, remove the instrument cluster. To do this, unscrew the bolts securing the dashboard panel and remove it. Be careful not to damage the tabs that hold the shield.
Step 2
Locate the bolts that secure the instrument cluster to the dashboard. They are usually located as follows: one on the bottom and two or three screws on the top. After that, pull the devices towards you and remove the structure from the place of its installation. Then disconnect the electrical connector that fits the instrument cluster by squeezing the lock and pulling the block.
Step 3
After that, finally remove the devices from the car and place them on a flat surface. Take a pair of tweezers and carefully remove the bulb holder to be replaced. To do this, turn it counterclockwise and pull it out. Remove the light filter from the lamp and replace.
Step 4
Some of the lamps are hidden under the dielectric plate, so to remove them, unscrew the screws securing the plate to the devices and disconnect it. After that, find the lamp you need and use tweezers to remove it from the socket and install a new lighting fixture.
Step 5
Remember, when re-installing, make sure that all bolts and clips are in place. Also, be careful when installing new lamps, do not touch them with your fingers, which may leave greasy stains on the surface. Try to do all work with gloves and clean hands. If a stain or dirt appears, remove the defect with a clean cloth. After replacing lamps, be sure to check the functionality of the installed equipment.
