There are many reasons for air entering the injection pump of a diesel engine, and all of them, in one way or another, are related to the age of the car. Signs of air leakage - after starting, the engine starts to run unevenly and does not respond to the accelerator pedal. Over time, starting becomes more and more difficult until the diesel stops starting at all.
It is necessary
- - plastic container for 3-5 liters;
- - two durite hoses about 1 m long, equal in diameter to the hoses for direct and return fuel supply;
- - two clamps for hoses
Instructions
Step 1
Begin all work on removing air with a thorough cleaning and flushing of the high-pressure pump, hoses for the direct and return fuel supply, and the joints of the fuel pump with the lines. The slightest foreign particle entering the fuel line can lead to unpleasant consequences.
Step 2
To remove air from the high pressure fuel pump, disconnect the direct and return fuel supply hoses and install the previously prepared durit hoses. Fill the container with diesel fuel. Fix the hoses with clamps on the nozzles, lower the free end of the direct feed hose into the container, and take measures so that it does not jump out of it under any circumstances.
Step 3
Place the container above the level of the injection pump. On a cleaned and cleaned fuel pump, unscrew the bolt of the return flow connection and suck air through this connection until fuel appears. Tighten the unscrewed bolt and run the engine for 5 minutes to remove air more completely. Suction air using a syringe, vacuum pump, or any other available method.
Step 4
To expel air in another way, place a plastic container with diesel fuel above the level of the fuel pump. Remove the direct supply hose from it and drain the fuel in the same way as when pouring fluid from one container to another. As soon as the flow of diesel fuel turns into a steady stream, reinstall it and tighten with a new clamp.
Step 5
Next, unscrew the bolt of the return flow pipe, and through the opened fitting the air will be removed by itself under the influence of the siphon effect. Run the diesel engine for 5 minutes to completely remove air from the injection pump. After half an hour, restart at the same time.
Step 6
To eliminate air leakage, check the tightness of the fuel hoses and the reliability of their tightening with clamps, the condition of the fuel pipes, the seal of the fuel filter, the tightness of the manual or mechanical feed pump, the tightness of the seals of the drive shaft, the axis of the control lever and the cover of the injection pump. After identifying the places of possible air leakage, replace the defective parts.
