Replacing the carburetor with a single injection system allows for improved performance of the fuel supply system. Installation of a single injection involves replacing the intake and exhaust manifolds, fuel filter and electronic control unit.

The mono injection system has several advantages over the carburetor

The installation of a mono injection system improves the performance of the vehicle's fuel distribution system, as well as reduces the noise level in the cabin by replacing the exhaust manifold. You can replace the carburetor with a mono injection both in a specialized car repair service center, and with your own hands in a garage auto repair shop.

Preparation for the installation of the mono injection system

The set of equipment for the installation of a single injection system includes an intake manifold, a control unit, a set of reinforced fuel pipes, an adsorber with a fuel filter, an exhaust manifold with a lambda probe and power supply wires.

Before starting the installation of the mono injection system, the carburetor is removed from the car engine. The procedure for dismantling the carburetor is specified in the operational documentation for the car. Dismantling the carburetor also involves removing the distributor, manifold and air filter.

Installation of mono injection

After removing the carburetor, an intake manifold with fuel pipes is installed on the engine. The manifold of the mono injection system differs in design from the carburetor manifold, which was dismantled at the previous stage. When installing the manifold, a new set of gaskets must be used that matches the shape of the connecting flange.

Then the control system cable is installed, the movements of which regulate the fuel supply level. After that, the electronic control unit is installed.

The lambda probe is screwed into a special hole in the intake manifold, from which the protective plug is previously removed. The next stage of work is the installation of wiring. To protect the power supply wires from the negative effects of the external environment, they are shielded with polymer tubes and fixed with electrical tape.

In some cases, the installation of control wiring may require enlarging the wiring opening in the body. The mono injection system wiring connects the control unit, the fuel pump, the ignition indicator lamp and the battery.

At the final stage, the air filter is installed. When selecting this equipment, it is not recommended to use the products of other car manufacturers, since the excessive height of the air filter can interfere with the normal closing of the hood lid.
