The seat belt was invented at the end of the 19th century by the inventor George Kayley. Many motorists neglect it, however, according to statistics, in 40-50% of accidents, the seat belt saves the life of the driver. Step 1
Like any part of a car, belts wear out, therefore, they need to be replaced. You can go to a car service, but it is easy to replace the belts yourself. Of the tools, you only need a screwdriver and a wrench.
Step 2
Step-by-step procedure for replacing the front belts using the example of the VAZ 2108: - Remove the plug from the head of the lumbar branch bolt and unscrew it;
- Remove the decorative cover from the upper mounting bolt. It can be easily removed with a screwdriver. Unscrew the bolt;
- Now remove the B-pillar upper trim. Pull the belt out of it;
- Remove the C-pillar trim. This is done with a screwdriver;
- Unscrew the coil mounting bolt;
- Pull out the old seat belt;
- Install the new belt upside-down.
Step 3
Having experience in changing the front belts, proceed to replacing the rear ones: - Fold back the rear seat cushion;
- Remove the plug and unscrew the bolt;
- Remove the decorative strip on the upper belt anchorage;
- Unscrew the bolt;
- Unscrew the bolt securing the coil under the rear shelf;
- Pull out the belt;
- Install the new one upside-down and you're done! In terms of time, the work takes no more than 2 hours.
