A car seat is necessary to ensure the safety of the child while traveling in the car. Correct installation in the event of an accident can save your child's life and protect against injury. It is important to ensure compliance with safety requirements even for short journeys.
Instructions
Step 1
Install the seat in the back seat of the car, as the airbags designed to protect the front passenger from injury could harm a small child in an accident. If the seat belts allow this, position the seat in the middle of the seat.
Step 2
The seat must be positioned against the direction of travel of the vehicle. This requirement applies to babies up to one year old. If the child is sitting facing forward, when the car is suddenly braked, his fragile neck will not keep his head from inertial tilt forward. When the seat is reversed, the backrest and headrest of the seat will take on the resulting load and eliminate the risk of stretching the cervical vertebrae. The high edges of the seat will protect your little one in the event of a side impact. Experts recommend practicing reverse landing as long as possible.
Step 3
Fold down the front seat backrest and replace the seat. Thread the bottom of the horizontal strap into the groove, while looping the diagonal around the chair. Pull the strap out of the reel and thread the horizontal section through the strap slot on the other side of the seat. To easily fasten the belt, raise the chair vertically. After snapping the strap into the mount, return the chair to its original position. Before installing the seat, read the instructions supplied to guide the belt through all the slots required.
Step 4
Make sure the seat belt is fastened firmly and snugly against the child seat. Try moving the chair. If it moves more than 2 centimeters, reinstall it and fasten it more tightly. If you have purchased a 2-piece chair model, you only need to strap the base platform. The seat itself is installed on it using special clips.
Step 5
Purchase a seat with an Isofix attachment system if your car body is equipped with special brackets to which the seat attachment brackets cling. In this case, additional rigidity of the hitch is provided by a fixing strap that snaps into the lock at the back of the seat or in the trunk floor.
