Step 1
There can be many reasons for the appearance of vibration. The car has a connected chain: engine - clutch - gearbox - RK - connecting universal joints - drive axles - wheel disks - tires. Malfunction of any of the above units or parts can cause vibration.
Step 2
Engine. Due to its malfunction, vibration can occur for several reasons. Firstly, a malfunction of the ignition system, in which the normal operation of the piston group is disrupted. This causes engine vibration, which is transmitted to all units and, through the engine mount, to the frame and body of the vehicle. To eliminate this cause, you need to adjust the ignition system of the car. If necessary, change the candles and high-voltage wires. Secondly, the loosening of the engine mount. In this case, it is necessary to check the condition of its attachment and correct the defect.
Step 3
Gearbox (checkpoint). Most often, vibration can occur due to malfunctions that occur mainly in the support of the shaft connecting the gearbox and the RK. It is necessary to check the wear of the bearings and the shaft of the gearbox. If there is a defect, replace it. Also check the reliability of the gearbox fastening, make a broach.
Step 4
Transfer case (RK). It was the turn of her to check for vibration. If the box was removed for repair or for the purpose of its diagnostics, check if the installation points are not broken (possibly shifted) during its installation. You can try to adjust the vertical position of the RC by placing shims between the subframe and its attachment point. Now check the wear of the flanges and splines of the universal joints, especially in connection with the rear axle.

Miscellanea. The reason for the vibration of the "Niva" can be a minor, banal damage to the propeller shaft against some obstacle. In order to check the shaft for bending, rotate it in the centers of the lathe and find the deviation from the axis of rotation using the indicator. However, before doing all this, rule out the obvious reasons:
1. Check and, if necessary, balance the wheels of the car;
2. Check the integrity of the tire cord. If even an imperceptible "hernia" occurs, a decent vibration will be felt. Of course, if such a fault is found, the tire must be replaced immediately.
