The sounder should provide you with information about the appearance of fish within its range, about the shallows, about the state of the battery charge. For each specific model, not only instructions are attached, but also a built-in simulator program that shows how to work with the sensor and additional equipment.

Instructions

Step 1

Modern manufacturers offer to mount the echo sounder on the boat transom. Such a mount is fixed with screws and is stationary, that is, it will not be so easy to take the sensor with you. The control panel also requires a permanent installation, but some models are mounted only on a stand, and the monitor can be easily removed if necessary.

Step 2

There are also portable echo sounders, the control panel of which, together with a power supply and a transducer, is placed in a portable box. Before starting work, lift the monitor and secure it with the suction cups on a flat surface. Remove this sensor when driving at high speed so that the suction cup does not come off. You can attach the sensor to the monitor itself, but remember that the mounts are designed for electric motors.

Step 3

All fishing enthusiasts want not only a reliable, but also a removable mount. The commercially available telescopic arms attach to the transom, and the transducer is attached directly to the bracket, now it can be removed when needed.

Step 4

Some fishermen rent boats and they care about the size of the sensor and the method of attachment. Indeed, with a large sensor, problems can arise when finding a method and location for installation.

Step 5

Find a place free of strong vibrations. Strong water turbulence occurs due to protrusions on the boat hull, rivets and the propeller itself. Use the tips in the instructions, which will give you recommendations for mounting at a sufficient distance from external noise sources. Take special templates, cut them out and position the sensor as best as possible from the body, experiment with its location. Make sure that the sensor does not jump out of the water while moving - this may cause the image to fail.

Step 6

There is also a method of mounting inside the boat without making holes, just glue the sensor to the bottom, but this installation dampens or distorts the signal a little. Read about installing it through a hole in the case, but do not experiment without the help of a specialist. Take care in advance that the dimensions of the cable are not less than the distance from the power supply to the control panel, or extend the cable with a copper wire.

Step 7

Place the monitor on your left for better information perception. After all, the picture moves across the screen from left to right, then the old information will leave, and the new one will come. Place the screen in the movable stand, now turn and tilt it as needed.
