Necessary

  • - a set of screwdrivers and keys;
  • - your car;
  • - hairdryer;
  • - rags for cleaning;
  • - parts for replacement;
  • - skills in working with the electrical equipment of the car.

Instructions

Step 1

Open the hood and disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. This must be done in order to de-energize the headlamp and prevent a short circuit in the car's wiring. Then remove the left or right front wheel arch liner, depending on which headlight you want to remove.

Step 2

Remove the radiator bracket hole cover, front bumper trim, front bumper upper reinforcement assembly. This action is not always necessary. But on some vehicles, these parts interfere with the removal of the headlight. Then remove the headlamp when assembled. It must be removed as carefully as possible so as not to damage the glass fragile elements.

Step 3

Now disassemble the headlamp and make the necessary repairs. But usually its glass is glued to a strong sealant and secured with snaps. The latches must be pulled back and the sealant melted with a hot hair dryer. After repair work, reassemble the headlamp and reinstall it, observing the reverse sequence.

Step 4

When disassembling the headlight, always refer to the manuals for your car model in the Electrical Operations sections. Check and control every step in order to avoid incorrect connection of electrical devices of the car. At the very least, this can lead to repeated work on the installation (dismantling) of the headlight, and at the very least to the failure of certain sections of the car's electrical network or even to its fire during operation.
