An electric scooter is an environmentally friendly and safe means of transportation, which has recently become very fashionable. In the city on such transport, you can overcome up to 50 kilometers without recharging (depending on the model). But a logical question arises: what to do if the electric scooter is discharged right during the trip? Can you ride it like a classic scooter, pushing off the ground with your foot?
The main features of electric scooters
Any electric scooter must have a motor that turns the wheels and a battery. The presence of these elements allows the owner of this vehicle to move without any effort at a sufficiently high speed.
Electric scooters are allowed to ride on trotars and do not require any ownership and control rights. And in general, using an electric scooter is very simple: you need to stand on the platform, grab the wheel and press the start button. Even children and old people can do it.
To charge such scooters, you can use ordinary power grids with a voltage of 220 volts. One full charge takes only a few hours. And the fact that electricity is used as fuel is definitely a plus. Unlike cars that run on gasoline or diesel, electric vehicles do not pollute the environment with exhaust gases. Another important plus is low noise level and tremendous stability when driving (a monowheel and a gyro scooter cannot boast of such stability). In addition, this transport does not require a separate storage room; it may well be accommodated in an apartment.
But there are also disadvantages. It is not worth taking such a vehicle out into the street in rainy weather. These products are still afraid of contact with water. And taking into account the conditions of our climate, you can also forget about trips on an electric squeezer in winter - batteries in current models, as a rule, are not designed for low temperatures. There is one more important prohibition: the electric scooter should not be stored for a long time in a discharged state; it should be periodically connected to the outlet.
No electric traction? No problem
Manufacturers of modern electric scooters recommend that you always take the original charger with you. It is better not to use any third-party devices, this can lead to unpredictable consequences, up to the complete failure of the model.
But even the presence of an original charger is not a panacea. In practice, the following situation may arise: the battery is discharged, and there are no places nearby where it would be allowed to recharge. What should a scooter owner do? In principle, he can ride it further, using the muscular strength of his legs - this is not prohibited. However, one must understand that many models, released, say, three years ago, are very bulky and have a significant weight (sometimes more than 60 kilograms). It is clear that moving such a thing, especially uphill, will be very difficult. Another important point is the location of the deck. The higher it is located above the ground, the more difficult it will be for a person to make the necessary movements.
Of course, in the last couple of years, a lot of light and compact models have appeared, and everything is much easier with them. But even in this case, an adult is unlikely to like to make physical efforts in order, for example, to get to work (many in big cities buy an electric scooter for this very purpose). Most likely, if the battery runs out, the owner of the electric scooter will neatly put it in a backpack and use public transport.
