From August 29 to September 09, 2012, the Moscow Auto Show was held in the capital. As a result of the event, the best cars that managed to impress the participants and visitors were named.
The exhibition "Moscow International Auto Show 2012", which is held in the capital every 2 years, has ended. The organizers summed up the main results of the event. The best cars of the auto show were named, the winners were chosen by accredited journalists by filling in the appropriate questionnaires.
The Grand Prix of the competition went to the Bentley Continental GT Speed in the Dream Car nomination. As it turned out, most of the journalists dreamed of just such a supercar. Smart was named “Best City Car”. Moreover, this model made its debut on the Russian market in 2012. Prior to this, the car was not officially available for sale.
The Best Small Car Award went to the Mini John Cooper Works crossover. The jury members were impressed by the characteristics of the car. Despite its compact size, it is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo engine, and the power is estimated at 218 hp.
The most honest world premiere and the best middle-class car of the Moscow Motor Show was Mazda 6. The company's stand itself was marked as the most beautiful at the exhibition.
Another successful novelty was the Toyota Camry, which has a simplified gearbox and a 2-liter engine. Relatively affordable yet powerful, it was named “Best Business Car”.
The Rolls-Royce Ghost Luxury Sedan was named Best Executive Car. And the award for "Best Electric Car" went to Renault. The trophy was brought by the Zoe electric car.
Probably the most important and expected nomination of the exhibition was “Best Prototype”. The jury unconditionally gave the leadership to AvtoVAZ with its impressive XRAY concept car. Most experts recognized this prototype as the most decent in the entire history of the development of the Russian auto giant, so its victory turned out to be more than deserved.
