The domestic car market in 2014 shows non-optimistic sales results. Even the always confidently leading companies performed poorly compared to the previous year. And some of them ended up on the outsider list altogether.
Instructions
Step 1
The car market froze, it was not even saved by the seasonal increase in sales - in March and April the market went into negative territory. There are several reasons for this. A noticeable decrease in demand for new cars was already noticeable in November last year. The situation in the foreign exchange market, the unstable political situation in Ukraine, and the increase in interest rates on loans aggravated the situation. Some analysts believe that the Russian market is already overcrowded, and the picture is clear when demand exceeds supply. On the other hand, against the background of the fall in the new car market, the used car market has revived. Which, in principle, is absolutely natural. Prices for used cars fall much more slowly, and the buyer has the opportunity to buy a used car and sell it for the same money in two years. A new car loses 15-30% of its original value every year.
Step 2
The preferences of Russians have remained practically unchanged for many years. The best selling cars are the budget segment. According to the Committee of Automobile Manufacturers (AEB), in the first half of the year, the top three looked like this: Lada Granta from Avtovaz, Renault Duster from Avtovaz-Renault-Nissan, Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio from Hyundai-KIA Group. Took out of the three leaders Ford, contributed to this not too timely increase in prices for the best-selling Focus model. Whereas its main competitor Hyundai not only did not raise prices, but also released an updated Solaris. Yes, and Renault confidently holds the lead in sales of the Duster crossover only thanks to humane prices. The recent debutant - the updated Logan - has already begun to increase sales and immediately settled in 10th place, which is not bad for a beginner. The popularity of AvtoVAZ products has always been determined not only by affordable prices, but also by territorial demand.
Step 3
But there are also companies that confidently show good sales growth dynamics, although they are far from the leaders. But at least they haven't lost anything compared to last year. Nissan is increasing sales (+ 29%) due to the updated line of three headliners at once - Juke, Almera and Teana. Mazda is not far behind: + 23% growth compared to last year. The main surprise was the sales growth of the Mercedes-Benz concern (+21). Although it is during the transition period (if we recall the 2008 crisis) premium cars are selling better. Plus, these figures include sales of commercial vehicles.
