The number of cars on the roads of Moscow is constantly growing, many kilometers of traffic jams during rush hours have already become a common attribute of the capital. But other troubles await car owners, one of the most serious is theft of a vehicle in the capital.
Statistics claim that the number of car thefts in Moscow and the region is not only not decreasing, but even slightly increased compared to 2011. Owners of various brands of cars, both domestic and foreign, risk losing their four-wheeled friend. However, car thieves have their own preferences.
The most stolen premium car in Moscow and the Moscow region was the BMW of the fifth series, the number of thefts during the summer season exceeded one and a half hundred. The second and third lines of the rating were taken by Mercedes S and Mercedes E, each of the models was stolen about a hundred times. The honorable fourth place is taken by the Audi A6 - more than 60 thefts. The fifth and sixth lines went to the BMW 7 Series (about 60 stolen cars) and BMW X5 (more than 40 thefts). The seventh place in the top ten most stolen cars was taken by Mercedes ML - more than 30 stolen cars.
The Japanese Toyota Land Cruiser Prado with almost 30 stolen cars took the eighth place in the rating, wedging into a slender range of products of the German car industry. Germany again took ninth and tenth places - Mercedes GL was hijacked about 30 times, and the sporty Porsche Cayenne - more than 15.
Judging by the list, among the premium cars, hijackers prefer products from German companies, which are famous for their high quality and exceptional reliability. The leadership of the German car industry will not be violated even if we consider the general statistics of theft, including all classes of cars - the top line of the rating in this case will unconditionally be occupied by Volkswagen Passat with more than three hundred thefts. Toyota Camry is on the second place with almost two-fold lag.
Do not think that only the products of foreign manufacturers are being stolen, car thieves are quite fond of the cars of the domestic auto industry. Most often, front-wheel drive models are stolen, the leadership here is held by VAZ 2109 (almost 50 thefts), VAZ 21099 (about 30) and VAZ 2112 (about 30). "Classics" are hijacked less often, most of all hijackers are attracted by VAZ 2107 - more than 15 hijackings.
