On September 9, the Moscow Motor Show MIAS-2012 ended, the largest event of the outgoing year, at which the best novelties of the global automotive industry were presented. Based on the results of the competition, the best cars were determined in different price segments, ranging from supercars to city cars of the middle class.
The results of the show were announced on the last day. The organizers announced the winners in each of the nominations, some of which surprised both experts and viewers. The Russian concept car LADA X RAY won the undisputed victory in the Best Prototype nomination. This victory was a real achievement for the domestic auto industry. The car was developed by the AvtoVAZ corporation. According to the management, this prototype really turned out to be extremely successful not only in terms of design and ergonomics, but also in terms of practicality.
By the decision of the jury, the super-powerful and fast supercar Bentley Continental GT Speed was named "Dream Car". The model is capable of accelerating from standstill to a speed of 100 km / h in just 4-5 seconds, and its power exceeds 600 horsepower.
In the city car segment, the Smart car won out, its small size successfully combined with good performance. The machine is equipped with a hybrid engine, and its compactness in a big city is an indispensable quality. Until 2012, Smart cars were not presented on the Russian automotive market.
The Mazda 6 universal sedan won the Best Mid-Range Car nomination. According to the jury, this model has all the characteristics required for a powerful, elegant and simple mid-range car. On the Russian market, the new product will be presented in two modifications, differing in engine volume.
The Toyota Camry developers received the Best Business Car award, and the small but powerful Mini John Cooper Works crossover was recognized as the best small car.
