What Russian doesn't like driving fast? If it is not possible to purchase a car with a large number of horses under the hood, the search for ways to increase the engine power of your car begins. It will be easier to do this with a carburetor engine, since in the injection control is carried out from the control unit. With a carburetor, you can "conjure" in your own garage with the basic skills of a car mechanic.

Instructions

Step 1

The injection system is a carburetor. The easiest way to slightly increase power is to replace the jets in your carburetor. However, using this option, you will increase not only power, but also the consumption of gasoline.

Step 2

Another option is to replace the camshaft. In this case, you change the camshaft to a shaft with different angles and heights of the cams, which will provide a greater value and duration of valve opening. This will change the gas exchange and increase the power. But there are negative consequences of replacing the camshaft - an increase in the load on the gas distribution mechanism, the valves can begin to stick. To prevent this from happening, the installation of sports (titanium) valve springs is required. The valves can break off from a sharp rise by the installed camshaft, therefore, the valves themselves must be replaced with reinforced ones.

Step 3

A more labor-intensive option is cylinder head boring (cylinder head). When the cylinder head is bored, the diameter of the inlet and outlet ports increases, and valves with a large diameter of the discs are installed. The disadvantages of this method are the great wear of the gas distribution mechanism.

Step 4

Cylinder block boring. By choosing this method, you increase the engine displacement and therefore the power. The disadvantage of this method is the risk of damage to the engine cooling system. If the cylinder block is made of light alloy metal, the engine may overheat.

Step 5

Nitrous oxide N20. This forcing option is the most unreliable and quite expensive. Nitrous oxide is fed into the cylinders with fuel. It is a gas known as laughing gas used for anesthesia. The principle is that under the action of high temperature, nitrous oxide breaks down and an additional portion of oxygen is obtained in the cylinders, which increases detonation. With this method, there is a risk of burning out the piston rings and the pistons themselves. Using it, it is better to replace the pistons of the rings with reinforced ones. Also, the engine resource is significantly reduced. At the moment of injection, engine power can increase by 50-80 hp.
