Preliminary oil change
Before tuning a car engine, it is necessary to replace the oil with a synthetic one. Of course, this manipulation will not lead to an increase in engine gain. But on the other hand, after further tuning, it is the synthetic oil that will be able to provide the optimal effect under extreme engine loads. The most popular manufacturers of synthetic oils include Mobil 1, Castrol, Red Line and some others.
Preparing the air filter
After changing the oil, pay attention to the exhaust system and air filter. To increase the engine power, you will need to "free" it from unnecessary obstacles. In fact, it is necessary that the motor can draw a significant amount of air in a sufficiently short time period. This effect can only be achieved by installing direct-flow mufflers. These mufflers will be able to ensure the unimpeded release of a huge amount of exhaust gases. Also, the ventilation of the cylinders will be faster. If co-current is used together with zero resistance air filters, engine power can be increased by twelve horsepower.
Installation of mufflers
Usually, two types of mufflers are installed on cars - 2, 5- and 3-inch. It is quite possible that the tuning will be completed on the modernization of the exhaust. Then a 2.5-inch muffler is enough. But if you plan to further boost the motor, you need to install a larger pipe. Powerful exhaust systems are most often found on the domestic market. By the way, forward flow can be done independently.
Sometimes there are some doubts about installing a sports filter of zero resistance instead of the factory version. If you decide to make a similar replacement of filters, you will need to take into account some of the features of this process. The sports filter will be able to fill the air engine very quickly. But this air will be too hot to achieve the desired effect. In this case, it will be necessary to install an additional air cooling system. Or you will need to put the filter in such a way that it takes in fresh air not from the engine compartment. Here, the decision will only depend on the owner of the car.
