Step 1
To achieve maximum power, the intake carburetor (drivers call the "big hole") must have minimal drag, because otherwise it will be difficult to achieve a good mixture and fill the cylinders at high and medium revs. However, when the carburetor throttle valve is suddenly opened, the air flow rate and vacuum in the diffuser are significantly reduced, as well as the amount of sucked fuel is reduced, due to which the combustible mixture becomes leaner. The depletion of the mixture leads to the fact that at low revs the power tends to zero (this fact becomes more noticeable at large D of the main diffusers).
Step 2
By installing the standard SOLEX 073 carburetor, you get an excellent increase at high and medium revs, but at the same time increase fuel consumption, and besides, there is a dip at low revs. The carburetor setting in this case consists in increasing the elasticity of movement at high and medium speeds, achieving filling at low speeds, as well as in transient modes.
Step 3
Increasing carburettor power is more than just replacing old jets with new ones with a larger section. In addition to everything else, there is also a change in the calibration data, the "filling" of the carburetor, as well as the introduction of additional systems into the design of this device. To do this, drill additional metering channels in the carburetor body, then complete the carburetor with additional equipment and configure this device.
