Autumn is the time to prepare the vehicle for winter use, called seasonal maintenance. The list of works also includes the replacement of lubricants in transmission units, which also include a gearbox.

Instructions
Step 1
When in cold weather in the morning after starting the engine, the clutch pedal is released and the car tries to move, despite the fact that the gearshift lever is in the neutral position, this fact indicates that the hypoid lubricant poured into the unit is unsuitable for further operation.
Step 2
To change the transmission oil, the car is placed on an inspection pit, overpass or lift. It must be taken into account that the grease intended for filling the crankcases of transmission units has a high viscosity and therefore its complete removal is carried out only in a heated state.
Step 3
Immediately after the trip, the car is installed, for example, on an inspection pit. Below, on the pallet of the gearbox, the drain plug is unscrewed, and the oil flows into a previously prepared container.
Step 4
After releasing the crankcase of the specified unit from the old hypoid grease filled into it on the left side surface (almost in the center) of the gearbox, the filler plug is unscrewed.
Step 5
By screwing the plug into the gearbox pan, the syringe is filled with oil, and then it is squeezed out into the inside of the box. The specified side hole is both a filling and a control hole. As soon as the excess lubricant begins to flow out of it, the filling of the crankcase stops, and the plug returns to its place. After washing the hands, the procedure for changing the oil in the gearbox is considered complete.
