Self-tinting of VAZ-2107 glasses at home takes a full day. Approximately 1 hour is spent on dismantling the glass, 4-5 hours for the tinting process itself, 48 hours for drying and 2 hours for installing them back.
It is necessary
- - good tinting film, preferably metallized 3 m;
- - shampoo not less than 200 ml;
- - rubber spatula-eraser to displace water;
- - a very sharp knife;
- - spray gun (manual can be used).
Instructions
Step 1
Pre-dismantle all glass from the VAZ-2107 intended for toning. When doing this, proceed in accordance with the operating instructions. Wash them thoroughly (you can do this before removing), achieving perfect cleanliness in the corners. Measure glasses for accuracy. Cut the film according to the measurements, leaving 5 cm allowances on each side. Cutting the film is best done on a suitable piece of unusable glass.
Step 2
Together with an assistant, separate the film into transparent and dark parts. In this case, the assistant must hold the film. Peeling off the clear layer, continuously wet with dark shampoo solution. Transfer the dark layer of film to a helper to keep it moist at all times. Throw away the transparent layer.
Step 3
Spray the shampoo solution onto the glass with a spray bottle from top to bottom. After that, take the film by the edges and attach it to the glass with an adhesive layer to the surface. If using a plastic scraper, place a transparent layer on top of the dark film to prevent scratching when smoothing.
Step 4
Using a rubber spatula, smooth out the film, expelling water and air bubbles from the center to the edges. Start by holding the plastic and pressing lightly on the putty knife. Increase the pressing force gradually, carefully expelling water and air. Do not hurry. An hour after the end of the procedure, carefully cut the film, leaving a margin of 1 cm. After another 8 hours, you can cut the film at the root.
Step 5
To speed up the drying process of the glass, direct a stream of warm air to the fresh tint. This can be done using any hair dryer. When cutting the film, hold the knife at a 30 degree angle to the film surface. Dry the tinting within 48 hours and install the glass on the VAZ-2107.
Step 6
For tinting the front side windows, use a film with a light transmittance of at least 85%. Stick a tinted strip on the windshield using the specified technology. The rear window is difficult to self-tinting. When starting to tint the rear window, get some experience on the side windows.
