In Ukraine, unlike in Russia, it is impossible to conclude a contract for the sale of a car in a simple written form. It is imperative to issue it with a notary. This method, in contrast to the transfer of the car by proxy and a fictitious certificate from a car dealership, is fraught with the least problems for the seller and the buyer, but the most expensive.

Necessary

  • - the passport;
  • - documents for the car;
  • - certificate from the appraiser;
  • - a certificate from the traffic police that the car was not sold this year (during the initial sale);
  • - notarial services;
  • - money to pay for notary services and prepare the necessary documents.

Instructions

Step 1

First you have to contact a used car appraisal company. There you will be given a certificate of the average market value of the car. Based on this figure, the state duty will be calculated, which you will pay when notarizing the transaction.

Step 2

You should also take a certificate from the traffic police that your car was not sold in the current year. It can be obtained from the traffic police department where the car is registered. The service is paid, the cost of a certificate is about 300 hryvnia. You may not need this document. So check with the notary whether your statement, which is written directly at the time of the transaction, is enough for him, or if a certificate from the traffic police is still required.

Step 3

You will have to pay a state fee at a notary. It will be 5% of the amount indicated in the certificate from the appraiser if you sell the car to a stranger, and 1% if you sell it to close relatives. According to Ukrainian law, close relatives are spouses, children and parents, siblings. In addition, an average of 1 thousand - 1, 5 thousand hryvnia will be charged by a notary for his services (check for the absence of obstacles to the transaction, contract forms, etc.).

Step 4

Upon completion of the transaction, the seller must pay income tax. At the initial sale of the car, this is only 1% of the amount specified in the contract. In other cases - 15%.
