Because of this, the repair of this car has a lot of features. Let's see how to check the oil in a Ford Focus.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure the vehicle is on a level surface. Check the engine oil level before starting the engine. Remember that when the engine is running, the oil heats up and expands, so the oil level may be higher than the MAX mark.
Step 2
Remove the dipstick from the engine and check the level. Then dry the dipstick thoroughly with a cloth. Check the oil level again. Install the dipstick and after a while remove it, making sure that the level is between the MAX and MIN marks.
Step 3
If the oil level is near the minimum notch, then it must be topped up to bring it to the normal level. Stop the engine, remove the oil filler cap and add oil. Make sure that the level does not rise above the maximum mark - this is unacceptable.
Step 4
Use only oil that meets the requirements of this brand of engines. Do not use various kinds of oil additives to improve performance. The use of additives can lead to engine malfunctions and even engine damage.
Step 5
After adding oil, install the oil filler cap on the engine. Turn it gently and, when you feel some resistance, stop. Take into account that the oil consumption of new engines returns to normal levels only after driving about 5000 km.
