If you are building a house with your own hands, you are probably faced with the problem of lifting a load to the second floor. As an option, builders use scaffolding, walkways and hand carry. Step 1

Prepare a ready-made ladder made of aluminum, it is possible from profiled steel. Even a homemade wooden ladder made with your own hands will do. The main requirement is that the bowstrings of the stairs should be perfectly parallel and as strong as possible, because they will serve as guide "rails" for the transporting platform that lifts the loads.

Step 2

First, get into the idea itself. On the guide rails, you will move a transport platform on several wheels. The wheels will allow the platform to move upward and hold it securely.

Step 3

Secure the platform to 6 wheels - 3 wheels on each side. You will remove or put on your cart from the end of the stairs. If you have to rearrange and reconfigure the lift, a more mobile version without rigid fastening of the loading platform on the ladder bowstrings will suit you. After all, the stairs are always installed at a large slope against the wall. It is clear that the center of gravity of the platform is in the projection of the support area of the ladder itself. If you remove the lower wheels from the guide rails, you can quickly remove and install the platform. Use a quick-release connection such as a carabiner with a lifting cable.

Step 4

Throw the cable over the block, fasten it to the top of the ladder. You will lift the cargo platform up with this cable. As a drive, you can use manual force or connect a reversible electric motor. You can only lift about 60 kg by hand. If you add collars or pulley blocks, then the weight of the load can be increased. If you connect an electric motor, you can lift several hundred kilograms each time. Make sure that the worm gearbox on the engine must be used, because it has the effect of automatic braking, has a significant deceleration rate. If you use a planetary (gear) gearbox, then consider stopping devices on both sides so that it is convenient not only to raise the load, but also to lower it.

Install switches that stop the electric motor when reaching the extreme positions so that the cable does not break and the platform does not fall. The electric motor can be installed at the bottom and structurally connected to the ladder, or you can place it at the top and use the upper block only to change the direction of efforts when lifting.
