Even experienced drivers who are proficient in driving a car are not insured against minor damage to the car body, which can occur for a variety of reasons. In modern cars, bumpers made of plastic very often deteriorate. Minor mechanical damage to the bumper often forces car owners to pay for a complete replacement of the part, but in some cases, damage to the bumper can be repaired with a good repair.

Instructions

Step 1

After an accident or collision with any object on the road, collect the plastic fragments of the bumper and take them with you - they will help to fix the bumper. Remove the bumper from the car and clean it of any dirt.

Step 2

Prepare an electric soldering iron and start soldering the parts of the broken bumper from the inside. Solder the parts evenly, making seams of the same width. Solder the branching cracks and make sure they are fused firmly. Additionally secure the seams from the inside with staples from the stapler, placing them every 2 cm in heated plastic.

Step 3

While the plastic is melted, “smear” it over the cracks to smooth the inside of the bumper, and then check to see if the face has recovered. Sand the front side of the bumper with a sander using an abrasive wheel to remove paint and primer. Solder the front side in the same way as the wrong side, and then level out the outer cracks, straightening the heated plastic around them.

Step 4

Re-sand the front side with a sanding wheel, wipe off static dust with a wet rag, and then treat the plastic on the outside with a building hair dryer. Treat the bumper with plastic putty, applying a minimal layer of it to the bumps.

Step 5

After drying, sand the filler and sandpaper by hand, and then wipe or blow off the dust from the surface of the bumper and dilute the primer under the paint. Prime the bumper surface in two coats with 15 minutes between primers.

Step 6

Apply developer to the bumper to further refine the bumps. Where the development is preserved, sand the plastic again, and then treat the primed surface with a nitro filler. Degrease the surface and dry the bumper. Buff it, cover with base, and then apply paint and varnish. Polish the bumper - the repair is complete.
