Any car enthusiast knows that water in a gas tank is bad for his four-wheeled friend. But with the complication of the general arrangement of the car, the situation has worsened. If some ten years ago, water mixed with gasoline led to a loss of car power, now the car owner can fly into complex and expensive repairs.
Instructions
Step 1
Remember that water is contained in the fuel and it is completely impossible to remove it from there. But you can keep it to a minimum. Refuel your car only with high-quality gasoline, preferably at networked gas stations. Little known gas stations do not have proper quality control of gasoline. Large chain filling stations themselves produce fuel, which they sell. It simply makes no sense for them to dilute it with water and other additives. Loss of reputation will lead to huge costs in the form of loss of customers.
Step 2
Refuel your car as often as possible. If the tank is not fully filled, the gas tank is filled with air, as a result of which condensation forms. Condensation is the main cause of water formation in the gas tank. Forget the myth that you can save fuel when the tank is not full because the car becomes lighter and uses less fuel while driving. Top up the gas tank whenever you can.
Step 3
Do not refuel on rainy or foggy days. If you have no other choice, then do not buy a certain amount of fuel, but fill the tank full. This will help to avoid the penetration of water into the gas tank, which negatively affects many parts of the car.
Step 4
Use alcohol to remove water from the gas tank. It is known from chemistry that gasoline, like other oily products, does not mix with water. Alcohols mix with water and are pretty good. The method of cleaning the gas tank is based on this property of alcohols. Fill the tank full of fuel. Take 300-500 milliliters of 96-degree pure alcohol and pour it into the car's fuel tank. Wait 15-20 minutes. Start the car and drive along the bumpy road so that the alcohol mixes with the water as well as possible and then leaves the car's fuel system.
Step 5
Use chemicals that you can find in abundance on auto store shelves. All drugs work on the principle of water absorption and its subsequent combustion in the engine along with the main fuel. Some additives contain additives that fight corrosion. But remember that preparations are different for gasoline and diesel engines.
