Recently, a large number of people moving on scooters began to appear on the roads. Accordingly, there was a need for tuning this vehicle. One way to stand out is with backlighting.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the necessary parts and tools before starting work. You will need wide-angle LEDs, resistors with a resistance of about 600-800 ohms, a fuse with a holder, small wires of various lengths, a soldering iron and other small accessories.
Step 2
Decide on the installation locations of the LEDs, and then mark the seats for them. To do this, use a marker to draw lines for approximate marking. After that, apply more precise markings to distribute the LEDs evenly over the surface. After that, take a small diameter drill, the optimum would be 4.8 mm - this diameter is ideal for installing the LED.
Step 3
Drill the holes and finish with side cutters or sandpaper to remove excess burrs. In order to "drown" the LED to the optimum depth, take a slightly larger diameter drill and carefully drill out the holes. Be careful not to go through with the drill, otherwise the diode will simply fall into the hole.
Step 4
Insert the LEDs into the holes intended for them and treat the place of contact of the contacts with the scooter body using a special radio glue, which has insulating properties and firmly fixes the diode. Then take a soldering iron, wires and resistors.
Step 5
Solder a resistor to each LED, and connect the lights to each other using wires. If possible, place all connecting wires in heat-shrinkable tubes, which insulate the contacts not only from each other, but also from moisture. After completing this stage of work, attach all structural elements to the scooter body using double-sided tape. After that, connect the system to the battery via the toggle switch and check its operation.
