Winter is a serious exam for a car and a real test for its owner: some car owners are racking their brains in the evening how to quickly and painlessly start a car in the morning. The optimal solution to this problem is to install an engine preheater on cars.
Necessary
- - wires;
- - coolant;
- - fuel pump;
- - pre-heater with instructions;
- - thermal insulation materials;
- - tools.
Instructions
Step 1
Carefully study the accompanying instructions, which give recommendations for installing the preheater. After studying the theory thoroughly, move on to the practical part. Although the installation of this device can be done in the garage, it will be more convenient to do this in a box with a lift or a pit.
Step 2
Before proceeding with the installation of the pre-heater, assess the free space under the hood: electrical wires, fuel supply and other communications. Unwind Binar's wiring harness and see if it will be enough to connect the main nodes together. It is best to lay the remote start wire in a corrugated pipe with wires going from the hood to the passenger compartment to the PPD control point.
Step 3
Determine in the passenger compartment where to install the control panel. Sometimes it may be necessary to partially dismantle the front panel elements. Connect the wires from the remote control to the relay, then connect the relay to the central alarm unit.
Step 4
Carefully inspect the car bottom: near the fuel tank, you need to find an appropriate place to install the fuel pump (it should be fixed so that this unit is protected from external negative factors).
Step 5
Place the boiler on a solid base: there must be sufficient free space around it. All communications to the boiler must be kept away from moving parts.
Step 6
Before inserting into the cooling system, stock up on a liter of coolant, since when inserting into the standard system, part of the antifreeze may spill. When installing the pipes of the cooling system, make sure that these pipes do not bend, as this will significantly reduce the flow area and the flow of the circulating coolant (this can cause a complete blockage of the flow).
Step 7
The tie-in diagram should look something like this: intake of liquid from the stove - pump of the preheater - heater - engine - supply to the stove. The pump must be installed so that it turns out to be the lowest point of the liquid circuit (the fitting must be facing upward: this will make it possible to avoid airing the circuit).
Step 8
Install an air pump as close to the boiler as possible: it is better to position the blower with the nozzles down. After that, secure the exhaust pipe securely and wrap it with thermal insulation material. The outlet of this pipe must be directed so that exhaust gases do not accumulate under the hood and, therefore, do not enter the passenger compartment.
Step 9
Connect the pre-heater supply drive to the positive battery terminal, and fix the PPD fuses in such a place that they do not get splashed and dirt. Upon completion of the installation work, be sure to check the functionality of the installed device.
