Before driving a car, the driver should definitely check if the mirrors are correctly adjusted. Ignoring this rule, the motorist deprives himself of a good view of the road, and this significantly increases the risk of accidents.

Instructions

Step 1

Adjust and check your mirrors every time before driving anywhere in your car. Start by adjusting the side mirrors. Sit behind the wheel and tilt your head slightly to the left. Rotate the left side mirror so you can see a portion of your car's rear bumper. Repeat the same action with the right mirror. Your movements should be slow and fluid, as this makes it easier to determine the most comfortable position for the mirrors. As a result, you should provide a good view of the road and, if possible, remove the blind spot. Otherwise, there will be a risk of accidents, especially when changing lanes to an adjacent lane.

Step 2

If you are unable to adjust the side mirrors so that the blind spot disappears, either purchase parabolic models with a wide view, or attach an additional convex round mirror. Keep in mind that in both cases, the reflection will be somewhat distorted, and you will need time to learn how to accurately determine the distance to the car that is moving behind you.

Step 3

Adjust your rearview mirror. Sitting in the driver's seat, turn it until you see the rear window of your car in the reflection, and the center of the mirror should coincide with the center of the reflected glass. Situations in which the driver has to rise and stretch their neck to look in the mirror are unacceptable. You should be very good at seeing what is happening behind your vehicle. Do not neglect the adjustment of the rearview mirror: it complements the side mirrors, allowing you to get a full view of the road.

Step 4

Check the quality of the mirror settings. Get behind the wheel and ask someone to walk around your car without moving more than two meters from it. If at a certain moment the person disappeared from sight, then your mirrors have a blind spot, and they need to be adjusted again. As soon as you stop seeing your helper's reflection in the side mirror, it should immediately appear in the rearview mirror. If this rule is met, and no blind spots were found, then you have configured the mirrors correctly.
