In the spring, when the frost will definitely not return, it is time to replace the rubber. But this does not end there, it is important to find a place to store it so that the properties of winter tires are fully preserved. Summer heat has a detrimental effect on the condition of these tires.
To avoid unpleasant consequences, there are some conditions for storing tires.
1. It is important to find a suitable room for storing tires. Do not lay them on an open balcony. From hot, sunlight on the surface of the rubber microscopic defects can form, which will manifest themselves over time. The best option for them would be any covered, dry and cool place: garage, storage room, barn, and other suitable premises.
2. Before deciding on the storage of rubber, carefully inspect their condition. If the tread has wear, the rate of which does not correspond to the traffic rules, or a certain number of studs are missing, then it makes no sense to store such wheels.
3. Good tires after winter use need to be prepared for the next season. Be sure to wash them, dry them, and store each wheel separately in covers or other breathable packaging. In this form, the tires will be protected from dirt.
4. If the storage of tires will be carried out together with disks, then they should be kept suspended or put in a pile. The wheels can only be stored vertically when inflated.
5. Storing tires separately from disks must be carried out vertically, but with periodic rotation, so that the rubber does not deform. Carrying out such simple actions for storing tires will provide them with a longer service life.
