In transport organizations, drivers need to find out how much time they will take on a particular route. But not everyone knows how to do this in order to get the clearest data possible.
It is necessary
- - map;
- - reference book of highways;
- - GoogleMaps;
- - GPS navigator.
Instructions
Step 1
Determine the distance to your destination using GoogleMaps before moving on to calculating the travel time along the route. Plot a route using the ruler tool - get the exact distance to your chosen point. This value is usually denoted with the letter S. In addition to GoogleMaps, you can use the road guide to calculate the distance.
Step 2
Calculate the average travel speed (V). This value directly depends on how exactly you plan to move. Let's say you can travel by car around the city at a speed of 40-60 km / h, and outside the city the average speed will be 90-120 km / h.
Step 3
Calculate the travel time after calculating the path and speed. To do this, use the following formula: t = S / V, where t is the required time, and V and S are the values found above.
Step 4
Please note that before dividing the dimension of quantities, it is worth first converting them to one unit of measurement. So, if your path is in meters, then take the speed in meters per second. And accordingly, if you know the path in kilometers, then take the speed in kilometers per hour. So you get in the first case the time in seconds and in hours - in the second. But it is worth noting that the accuracy of this method is not very high, and the calculations are not particularly easy.
Step 5
Improve the accuracy of calculations using a GPS navigator, you can have it as a separate device or as a built-in function in your phone. Take this device and set a route on its map. The program will quickly pave the route and show it on the map, while also indicating the distance.
Step 6
Start moving along the route by transport, and the GPS navigator will analyze your speed and automatically calculate the planned travel time. After you complete the movement along the route, go to the subsection of summary information, there will be indicated the exact time that it took to move.
