Instructions

Step 1

Place a jack under the right front of the car, then remove the wheel and place supports under the car to protect yourself and the machine during work. After that, open the hood and remove the air filter together with the housing. Locate the throttle cable, which is carefully disconnected by unscrewing its support, which is held by three bolts.

Step 2

Unscrew three more bolts located on the power steering pulley. To do this, you need two keys for "13" - hold the bolt with one, and unscrew with the other key. Remove the pulley along with the alternator belt. Then, with a pry bar, rest against the engine support, and disconnect the pulley by lightly pressing on the engine.

Step 3

Remove the timing protection by unscrewing the corresponding bolts. Remove the old timing belt. After that, check the condition of the pump and replace the worn parts. Prepare a new belt.

Step 4

Insert a pointed pin into the hole of one pulley, the point of which is directed inward. Make sure that one end of the pin is touching the timing protection and the other is touching the car body. In order for the belt to fit snugly against the pulley, place a small piece of rubber between the belt cover and the belt itself. Using the chalk, make a mark on the first pulley, and then on the second, one tooth below the previous mark.

Step 5

Place the belt over both pulleys, then slide it over the crankshaft gear and pump gear. After that, start rotating the pump with a wrench while tightening the belt. Tighten the final tension by carefully tightening the bolts. Begin this procedure with the bolt on the far left and, after the marks match, finish tightening.

Step 6

Check the quality of the work done. To do this, rotate the crankshaft an even number of times, while the marks should match, and the belt tension should remain at the same level. Then reassemble in reverse order.
