If you are the owner of a Ford Focus car, then you probably faced the need to remove the driver's door or disassemble it, or rather with the question of how exactly this should be done. Due to the specific structure of the car, there are some nuances in this procedure that must be taken into account when performing certain actions. If you are sure that the door needs repair, look for Ford Focus parts in advance. Naturally, when choosing, take into account the car model, characteristics and the alleged breakdown.

Necessary

Standard and thin screwdrivers, pliers

Instructions

Step 1

So, before proceeding with the operation, completely close the glass. Gently pry off with a screwdriver, remove the cover along with the joystick that controls the mirrors. After that, also pry with a screwdriver and remove the plastic cover from the handle, then unscrew the two screws that are under it. At the rear and front ends of the door, unscrew the self-tapping screws that secure the casing.

Step 2

After that, take a thin screwdriver and use it to remove the decorative penny from under the inner door opening handle. After completing this operation, unscrew the screw that will be in front of you. Next, remove the cover, which contains the buttons for controlling the power windows, and disconnect the connector that prevents removal. Now remove the entire cover completely. To do this, it is necessary to pull it up with force.

Step 3

Now carefully peel off the sealant that is near the outside handle. If you carefully handle the sealant and do not get it dirty, then later it can stick back. Now a hole has opened in front of you, in which you can see the head of the screw. Be careful: it can only be unscrewed with an Allen wrench (not a hex key, but an asterisk). Clamp the short part of the key with pliers and start twisting. If you accidentally drop the key, you can retrieve it with a magnetic pin.

Step 4

If you have done everything correctly, you can easily remove the handle from the outside and see if it has any problems. To release the short part of the handle, unscrew the aforementioned screw, and the long part pull back a little and carefully remove. The door is completely disassembled - now just fix the problem and reassemble the door in the reverse order.
