In hot summer, situations often occur when the car engine overheats. In the future, this can lead to breakdown of important machine components. If the engine is overheated, you do not need to go to a car service immediately. You can understand why this situation happened on your own.
Instructions
Step 1
The first reason is that there is not enough antifreeze in the cooling system. This means that somewhere microcracks have formed, from where the liquid flows. If you have already come across a car repair, then it is easy to find a leak. After a long period of inactivity, a wet spot under the machine may indicate a leaking pipe or radiator. If you did not manage to find a leak outside, then you need to immediately contact a car service, since there is a high probability that the coolant has got into the engine itself, into the oil, or into the cylinders. This can lead to water hammer and other irreversible consequences.
Step 2
The second reason is the problem in the fan. If your machine has a "forced" fan, we recommend checking the belt tension. Weakening it has a bad cooling effect. If there is a temperature sensor in the fan, then we can assume that there is a problem with the sensor itself. Look if the radiator is clean, often motorists forget to wash it, and meanwhile dirt does not conduct heat well and plays a negative role in cooling engine units. If you washed the radiator and the engine still boils, then just replace the old radiator.
Step 3
The third reason is the failure of the thermostat. Over time, its internal parts cease to be elastic, and as a result, the thermostat "drives" the antifreeze in a small circle (which leads to overheating of the engine), or in a large circle (which leads to problematic heating of the car in winter). Traffic jams, constant braking at traffic lights can also lead to engine overheating due to insufficient airflow.
Step 4
The fourth reason - the engine can boil if the exhaust valve bursts. In this case, hot gases enter the motor and heat it up to the maximum temperature. A burst outlet valve can be identified by the sensor arrow, which rises to the red mark.
