Speed bumps are silent and unyielding law enforcement officers on the streets. They do not give much acceleration on flat sections of the road, they "force" pedestrians to pass at crossings. But if you run over them incorrectly, you can collect a traffic jam or even damage the car.
Instructions
Step 1
You can argue a lot about the dangers or benefits of speed bumps, which are also called artificial irregularities. But this reasoning and gossip is unlikely to be useful to a car enthusiast who is approaching an obstacle. You can safely pass a speed bump either at a very high speed or at a very slow speed. If you are driving at night and no one interferes with your movement, you can "slip through" it at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour - the car will not suffer from this.
Step 2
But driving at a speed of 100 km / h on city roads is prohibited even at night. Therefore, it is more advisable to use a slow passage. There is no need to completely stop the car in front of a speed bump and drive into it like a hill. It is enough to reduce the speed to 10-15 km / h in advance, put the gearshift lever in the neutral position and do not touch the pedals.
Step 3
It is very important to drive up to the speed bump at a low speed, and not to drop it just before the collision. When braking, the vehicle's weight shifts forward and the suspension is heavily loaded. And then you run into an artificial bump with your front wheels. If you use this trick more than once, you risk spending money on suspension repairs.
Step 4
If other cars aren't in your way, an angle is ideal. That is, you need to hit a speed bump first with the left front wheel, then with the right. Then the car most safely passes the obstacle, like a bear climbing over a fallen tree.
Step 5
Sometimes the speed bump is positioned so that it can be passed by hooking only with the left wheels, turning slightly towards the sidewalk. If it is not prohibited by the rules - do so.
Step 6
There are tall speed bumps. You approach them at a speed of 15 km / h, but so that the car does not stall, you should turn on the gas when the wheels just touch the obstacle.
