The reason for the failure of the fuse may be an increase in voltage in the electrical circuit. The fuse is designed for a certain current strength, when exceeded, it burns out and opens the circuit, so that the electrical devices of the car remain safe and sound. A power surge can be caused by a short circuit. It can arise due to the wires gnawed by mice during the winter parking, rusted after a long parking of the wiper motor, or an ordinary child's prank.
It is necessary
- - lamp;
- - tongs;
- - magnifying glass.
Instructions
Step 1
The most difficult thing in replacing fuses is finding a faulty element, especially since there may be several fuses in some car systems.
Step 2
After you determine which fuse is defective, remove it. It is often difficult to do this with your hands, so use tongs. Some car brands already have special pliers, which are located in the fuse box covers.
Step 3
After removing, make sure that the fuse is actually blown. To find out, just look at it. Most often they are made of transparent plastic through which you can see a thin wire. It melts in a faulty fuse, which can be seen through the plastic.
Step 4
Then install a new fuse. When replacing it, please note that the fuses may have different ratings. Therefore, the purchased fuse must have the same rating as the defective one. They are made in different colors - blue, yellow, red, and each one has numbers. This is the fuse rating.
Step 5
Insert the correct fuse exactly where the defective fuse was removed from. Often people with poor eyesight or in the dark make a mistake, install it in another nest. Because of this, the electronic module works differently, and the car starts to behave strangely. For example, when the ignition is turned on, the headlights, power windows do not work for some time, or the engine does not turn off when the headlights are on.
