European cars are very popular in Russia. If you import the car yourself, you will be able to save 15 to 30 percent of the price at which it is exposed on the Russian market.

Instructions

Step 1

If you decide to go to Germany for a car, apply for a Schengen visa. Not necessarily German. The Spaniards are quite friendly to Russians, they give almost everyone a multi-visa for six months. And you can enter any country of the European Union on it.

Step 2

Pay the customs deposit. This must be done in advance by downloading the receipt on the website of the Federal Customs Service. Its cost depends on the price of the car. There are several deposit options for low-cost, mid-range and luxury cars. Therefore, you will have to decide on the amount you want to spend on a car in Russia.

Step 3

Find suitable cars on German car dealership sites. Most of them have a Russified interface, and it's intuitively easy to figure it out. Select several vehicles of the required brand, preferably located in the same city. Sign up or call on Skype with the owners (in this case, you need to know at least a little English). If you can't find a car on your own, contact the Russian-speaking intermediaries, whose services are advertised on the same sites. For a small amount, they will not only pick up decent options for you, but also meet you at the airport, take you to the point of sale, and then help you check into a hotel.

Step 4

After meeting with the owners and choosing a suitable car, check if there is also a certificate of conformity to the Euro-4 ecological class. Only on its basis the customs authorities of the Russian Federation issue a vehicle passport (PTS). In addition, you will need a car registration certificate and a sales contract. All these documents will definitely be asked at customs. They need to be issued in specially accredited German companies, the addresses of which can be found in the car dealership nearest to the place of purchase.

Step 5

If all the documents are drawn up correctly, there will be no problems with the passage of numerous customs posts. Just show them along with your passport with a valid visa.
