It seems to a novice car enthusiast that adjusting the mirrors is not difficult and cannot take much time. However, it should be remembered that driving safety will largely depend on the correct setting of the rearview mirror. Well-adjusted mirrors provide good visibility and help you make the right decision in difficult driving situations.
Instructions
Step 1
Sit in the driver's seat. Tilt your head slightly towards your left shoulder. Now start adjusting the side mirror so that you can clearly see the edge of the rear bumper on the left side of the vehicle.
Step 2
Adjust the second mirror in the same way for an optimal view. When doing this, focus on the right edge of the rear bumper. Such an adjustment reduces the visibility of the "blind zone" to a minimum, that is, you can always see what other road users are doing behind your car during the maneuver.
Step 3
Adjust the standard interior mirror located in the passenger compartment so that the center of view coincides with the center of the rear window of the car.
Step 4
To increase the view of the rear borders of the car, install a special parabolic mirror in the passenger compartment. It is attached above the standard salon. The parabolic mirror will take some getting used to as it distorts the image slightly while increasing the visibility of the surroundings behind the vehicle.
Step 5
Make sure the rear view mirrors are set correctly. Ideally, the side mirrors, in conjunction with the interior mirror, give you a complete view of the driving situation around the vehicle. Adjust viewing devices so that so-called "blind spots" are not detected during viewing.
Step 6
Use your companion to make final checks on the visibility adjustment. Ask him to walk around the car slowly, keeping a distance of no more than two meters. At the same time, accompany the person with a glance in the rear-view mirror from the driver's seat. If the adjustment is done correctly, then when the image in the side mirror disappears, it immediately appears on the mirror located in the passenger compartment.
Step 7
Periodically check how well the mirrors provide visibility while operating the vehicle. If the setting is lost, try to correct the position of the mirrors as soon as possible according to the above diagram.
