For many car owners, a car is not only a means of transportation from one point to another, but also a full-fledged way of self-expression. Someone changes the appearance of the car, and someone equips their iron horse with powerful audio equipment. However, not everyone has the opportunity to purchase an expensive subwoofer in a store. You can do it yourself.

Necessary

  • - screws;
  • - screwdrivers with different blades;
  • - saw;
  • - plywood;
  • - low-frequency speaker;
  • - glue;
  • - cladding material.

Instructions

Step 1

Calculate the dimensions of the future subwoofers. Consider the size of the woofer you will be using, as well as the size of your trunk. Don't make a huge subwoofer that takes up all the free space if you are using a car for everyday use.

Step 2

To find the optimal size, you can use the data of ready-made subwoofers. You can find them on the website of any audio equipment store. Also on the Internet there are a number of special programs that are freely available, which allow you to automatically calculate the optimal dimensions of the case of the future subwoofer.

Step 3

Make body parts. For this, it is best to use plywood not 5 mm thick. This material is very easy to process. Draw a line with a pencil. Check if it is correct. With a red pencil, mark the lines along which you want to cut the plywood.

Step 4

Try on the resulting details. The assembled box should not have any flaws or distortions. If they do exist, then adjustments should be made. Finish the edges of the plywood, remove any bumps and burrs.

Step 5

Use a jigsaw or electric jigsaw to cut out the round hole for the woofer. Attach the speaker itself to the edges of the hole. Use small bolts for this. Place a rubber or felt spacer between the edge of the speaker and the plywood to eliminate vibration noise.

Step 6

Collect the box. Use self-tapping screws or PVA glue to connect. Thoroughly coat all joints with a special wood sealant.

Step 7

Install and secure the amplifier inside the box if you want to make an active subwoofer. Connect all wires to amplifier and subwoofer. Make a hole for the wires to exit.

Step 8

Cover the box with material or paint it with paint. You can also varnish the plywood. Install the received subwoofer in the passenger compartment, conduct the wiring and connect it to the radio. Check the functionality of the assembled device.
