Step 1
Signs of the need for overhaul of the engine are: increased consumption of engine oil and fuel, as well as unstable engine operation in various modes. As a rule, such phenomena are accompanied by excessive smoke in the exhaust gases.
Step 2
To carry out the specified repair, the engine is dismantled from its original place and placed on a workbench. After which it is subjected to detailed disassembly.
Step 3
Having disassembled the motor, troubleshooting of all its parts is carried out. Worn out - must be replaced, and defects found in the cylinder block, on the crankshaft and camshaft, are eliminated by boring on special machines by qualified specialists, to whom the crankshaft, camshaft and engine block are delivered along with new pistons purchased in advance and intended for further installation in motor. Remember to screw the crankshaft lower bearings back into place.
Step 4
After completing work related to boring and honing the engine block and crankshaft, the specialist is obliged to inform the owner about the repair dimensions of the liners intended for installation on the main and connecting rod bearings of the crankshaft.
Step 5
The cylinder block rebuilt by boring is subjected to further assembly, but now of a forced engine.
