Good visibility is important for safe driving, which is why car glass requires careful maintenance. If it is slightly damaged, it may need to be repaired, and in a more serious case, you will need to replace the auto glass. Therefore, you need to clean the glass regularly, following simple guidelines. This way, you can reduce the cost of maintaining your car, and you do not need a polishing or glass replacement for a long time.

Necessary

  • - clean warm water;
  • - sponge or rag;
  • - means for cleaning car windows

Instructions

Step 1

To clean not very dirty glasses, you can do without the use of chemicals by washing them with clean warm water using a sponge or rag. For more effective cleaning, you can use a special auto glass cloth.

Step 2

To remove more significant dirt, use a chemical glass cleaner. They help in cleaning dirt, grease, insect marks. You can buy glass cleaners at any auto parts store.

Step 3

During a long trip, street dirt, grease, particles of sand, smoke, tar, soot, etc. remain on the windows. Chemical contamination is difficult or impossible to wash with water or simple glass cleaning agents, because they are firmly adhered to the glass.

Step 4

When cleaning heavily soiled windows, use specially formulated detergents. They include surfactants (surfactants), solvents and various active additives. These highly active preparations must be diluted 1: 5 with water before use.

Step 5

For example, you can use a special detergent - "Auto-glass cleaner-2", with which you can wash the glass by hand, or by adding it to the washer. There is also a composition called "Auto glass cleaner". It should not be used to clean car windows as it is intended for normal windows.

Step 6

For cleaning, you can use a special tool "Nitkhinol". Apply it to the glass surface with a soft cloth or cotton wool, and then wipe with dry paper or rags.

Step 7

Recently, aerosol cans of glass cleaners have become popular. One of such tools is "Secunda 75", with which you can easily clean the windows of the car from the outside and from the inside (in the car, when smoking, nicotine plaque is formed on the glass from the smoke of cigarettes).

Step 8

If you have tinted car windows, wash them in the same way as regular windows. However, do not use abrasive detergents or cleaning brushes.

Step 9

In cold weather, there is the greatest risk of damaging the glass, in which case polishing may be required. To avoid this, it is better to have a defrosting spray in the car, with which you can remove ice from the glass without damage, and also solve the problem with a frozen lock. Do not use scrapers for this purpose, otherwise the glass may be scratched.

Step 10

In winter, it is recommended to use the Auto Defrosting Machine in an aerosol can. With it, you can easily remove ice and frost from the glass (for this, apply the agent to a previously cleaned glass surface, wipe the thawed glass with a dry cloth), and also prevent further icing (for this, apply a thin layer of aerosol). Then remove the defrost film with a damp cloth or rag.

Step 11

Also, during winter, the wear and tear of the wipers increases, so it is advisable to clean them as often as possible, at least 1 time per day. Car glass will last longer if you take the windshield wipers home overnight to clean and dry them. Do not use wipers that have ice particles adhered to as this will damage your car's windshield.
