An automatic transmission (automatic transmission) increases the comfort and convenience of driving. When equipped, the driver can concentrate on the road without being distracted by shifting the gear lever. This is especially true in traffic jams and in bad weather conditions. The disadvantage of automatic transmissions is that they increase fuel consumption and are less efficient than manual transmissions. Like other parts of the car, the automatic transmission may require repair.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a work area. It is best to remove the automatic transmission in an inspection hole or a room that is equipped with a car lift. The gearbox weighs quite a bit, so think ahead about how you will remove it.
Step 2
Disconnect the oil supply pipes to the oil cooler. It is not necessary to drain the oil before removing the box. Remove all mechanical drives such as cables, rods. When removing an electronically controlled automatic transmission, disconnect all electrical connections.
Step 3
The gearbox is removed with the hydrodynamic transformer (GT), so disconnect the bolts that attach it to the engine flywheel. Lower the box, holding the torque converter, or ensure that the automatic transmission is tilted to the side to prevent the GT from sliding off the input shaft.
Step 4
Disassembling the removed gearbox, start with the casing, which is attached to the engine. Remove each part and place it on top of the previous one so that you do not get tangled when assembling in the reverse order. Remove package by package and, when everything is disconnected, change gaskets and seals.
Step 5
Try to do the disassembly in a clean place, stock up on plenty of rags or paper towels, and write down any parts removed if desired, which will ease the assembly process. If you do everything wisely and take your time, then after everything is over, you will say that it was not at all difficult.
