All vehicles have high and low beam headlights. Distant blinds oncoming drivers equally, both on "left" and "right" headlights. The middle one on right-hand drive cars additionally illuminates the left side, which would be the side of the road in left-hand traffic … But in Russia with an abundance of right-hand drive cars and left-hand traffic, incorrect headlights create problems for oncoming drivers in night driving conditions.
It is necessary
- - opaque tape-scotch;
- - scissors;
- - tin or aluminum;
- - a set of tools for removing and disassembling headlights
Instructions
Step 1
To correct the headlights from "right" to "left", in other words, to make it the same as on left-hand drive cars, purchase and install European-style headlights on the car. This is the most correct way, very simple and works 100%. But, unfortunately, it is quite expensive and not always possible, since not all Japanese cars have European headlights.
Step 2
Take an opaque self-adhesive film and cover a certain part of the headlamp glass with it so as to partially remove the light beam directed to the left and up. This is also a simple and cheap method, but it does not give a 100% guarantee and is a violation of GOST. In addition, the film may fall off over time or be torn off by passers-by.
Step 3
Remove the headlight from the car and carefully examine it from the back side. Bulbs H4 on all right-hand drive cars are not fixed strictly vertically, but are turned clockwise at a certain angle, often equal to 30 degrees. Pull the lamp out of the socket and position it so that it faces the same angle but in the opposite direction.
Step 4
To do this, find a special antenna-holders that fix the headlight in a certain position. Carefully cut off part of the antennae with scissors so that the lamp can be fixed in its socket at a different angle. At the same time, do not cut them off completely, but leave 0.5-1 mm from each antenna. Sharpen the rest so that the lamp sticks well in the headlight and does not turn spontaneously.
Step 5
The described method of changing the angle of rotation of the bulb is not suitable for xenon headlights. If your car has just such, make and install curtains to correct the light. Take aluminum or tin as the material for them. Grind off the lamp reflector housing and fit the cutout shutter on it so that it blocks the incident light on the left side. Then install the lamp together with the shutter into the seat so that the shutter fits with its upper edge inside the headlight cap. The shutter must be held by friction between the lamp and the mounting socket.
