There are many fans to ride a scooter in winter. But, deciding to drive in the winter, you are likely to run into a problem that the car simply will not start. What to do?
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, it is worth noting that there can be two reasons why the scooter does not start in winter (unless, of course, the option of mechanical damage is excluded): fuel and ignition. First, let's talk about fuel. Gasoline has its own shelf life, which means that if the scooter does not start on old gasoline immediately, it will not start for quite a long time now. In order not to face such a problem in the future, just use a special device next time, which is called a fuel stabilizer (fill it according to the instructions in the fall, before placing the scooter in the garage).
Step 2
If you are already faced with the fact that the scooter does not start because of gasoline, then the following can help. Drain gasoline from tank and carburetor. After that, fill the tank with fresh gasoline, you may have to fill the entire tank, some scooters will start only under this condition. Try leaving the tank cap open during the refinery to help the fuel flow into the carburetor. Now find the drain screws of the float chambers and unscrew them a couple of turns, thereby freeing the fuel outlet from the carburetor float chamber. You will see how gasoline first drips from the tube and then pours out, let it drain by laying a small rag under it.
Step 3
Now a little about the ignition, we will restrict ourselves only to candles and a battery. You need to charge the battery for 10 hours with a current of 10% of the nominal capacity (the recommended current is usually indicated on the battery cover). Use special motorcycle scooter batteries, if you use car chargers, then most likely nothing will work. Check the candles with a special probe. Do this: install the electrode located on the muzzle of the probe on the tip of the spark plug, and short-circuit the other electrode to ground (you can use the cylinder block). If the spark plug does not work, replace it with a new one.
Step 4
When everything is checked and corrected, proceed directly to the scooter factory. Please note that you do not need to touch the throttle handle at this moment! Try to start the scooter three times, if nothing comes out - blow out the cylinders (at the factory, hold the brake, turn the throttle handle all the way and hold the starter button pressed for five seconds). If this does not help, try to wind up on the air. Remove the air filter cover and spray generously with ether, then close the cover and immediately try to wind up. If it didn't work and there is only one way out - go to the service.
