The amount of fines for violation of the Traffic Rules since July 1, 2012 has increased significantly, and for residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, some of them have increased tenfold. The fine for stopping or parking a car at a pedestrian crossing and closer than five meters in front of it, or on the sidewalk in the absence of a permitting sign, in Moscow and St. Petersburg amounted to 3,000 rubles, in the regions - 1,000 rubles. Until July 1, 2012, the amount of this fine was 300 rubles, but one could get off with a simple warning.

If the driver stopped or parked the vehicle at the places where route vehicles stop or closer than fifteen meters from them (except for stopping for picking up or disembarking passengers), he will be punished with a fine in the amount of 1,000 rubles. (Previously, the driver was given a warning or a fine in the amount of 100 rubles was issued.)

In case of non-observance by the vehicle driver of signs and markings prohibiting stopping or parking, the amount of the fine instead of 300 rubles. will amount to 1,500 rubles. Two thousand rubles of a fine will have to be paid to those drivers who have created obstacles for other cars when stopping or parking in places where there are prohibitory signs and markings. The same amount will have to be paid to those who stopped their car in the tunnel, while the car will be detained and moved to a specialized parking lot.

In other cases of violation of the rules for stopping and parking a car, drivers will receive a warning or will be obliged to pay a fine of 300 rubles, and in cities of federal significance - 2,500 rubles.

If the driver violates the rules of traffic in residential areas, he will be punished with a fine of 1,000 rubles (instead of 500 rubles). In Moscow and St. Petersburg, the amount of the fine for this administrative offense was 2,000 rubles.

The new edition of the Code of Administrative Offenses "Detention of a vehicle, prohibition of its operation" prohibits driving a car with tinted windshields and front side windows. In this case, a measure of influence will be the removal of registration numbers and the prohibition of the operation of the machine. According to the technical regulations, the light transmittance of the windshield must be at least 75%, and the front side windows must be at least 70%.

The driver, within 24 hours after removing the license plates, is allowed to follow to the place of elimination of the reason for the prohibition of operation. The tinting can be removed in the presence of a traffic police officer, but a fine of 500 rubles will still have to be paid.

According to the new edition of this article, the costs of moving and storing a detained vehicle will now be reimbursed by the driver who has committed an administrative offense.
