Since July 1, 2012, the punishment for non-observance of traffic rules has increased. The amount of fines for a number of violations has increased, in addition, drivers may temporarily lose their right to drive a vehicle. These and other measures of administrative pressure on traffic offenders are provided for by additional amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses.
One of the most painful for motorists was the punishment for car tinting. Since July, it has been strictly banned. In particular, this applies to tinted windshields and front side windows, for the presence of which the driver will no longer only get off with a fine, as it was before. In accordance with the new amendments, the traffic police inspector can prohibit the traffic offender from using the vehicle by removing state numbers from the car. And without them, the motorist will be able to move only during the day. After this time, driving without numbers can threaten with the deprivation of the right to drive a car for up to three months. It will be possible to get license plates only after paying the established fine and eliminating the identified comments, that is, removing the tint.
From five hundred to one and a half thousand rubles will have to pay for violation of traffic rules in residential areas. In particular, drivers who exceed the speed limit or who have stood for more than five minutes in a car with the engine running will be punished. Fines for passing through the courtyards of residential buildings and for not providing a road for official vehicles: ambulance, fire service and police have increased six times - from 500 to 3000 rubles - in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Drivers of other cities will pay three times less for the same violations.
The penalties for a number of other violations have also increased, including improper parking, driving into a designated lane for public transport, etc. In the capital and St. Petersburg for them, as well as a stop or parking on the sidewalk, pedestrian crossing or at a distance of less than five meters from it, for non-observance of markings and signs prohibiting parking, you will have to pay three thousand rubles.
The legislators were somewhat more loyal to motorists from other regions in comparison with those in the capital and St. Petersburg. For all of the above violations, they are subject to a fine in the amount of 1,000 to 1,500 rubles.
