Replacing thresholds on a car is a kind of body repair. The need to carry out this work arises after an accident, when the threshold amplifier receives serious deformation, or due to the effects of corrosion, the occurrence of which occurs due to the ingress of water.

Instructions
Step 1
First, remove the car doors, then make room for repairs by removing the aluminum sill and partially lifting the mat.
Step 2
The threshold should be removed in parts. First, remove the part of it that is located near the front door, and then near the rear door, after which you can dismantle the middle. There are two ways to do this. In the first case, mark the spot welding spots on the threshold with a marker, and then drill them with a thin drill. If you decide to use the second method, then instead of a drill you need a grinder, with which you can remove these points.
Step 3
After removing the threshold, clean the place where it was located from rust and dirt. Cut out any rotten areas if necessary. This is done so that in the future a new threshold can be easily built into this place.
Step 4
Before installing the threshold, fit it with a connector. From the front of the machine, it should connect to the section of the old connector, and at the rear, the new sill should lie on top of the old one. Only after docking the new threshold can you weld it, after which be sure to shorten the amplifier on the car and make a small cutout in the middle of the rack. It will be possible to weld the connector to the amplifier only after aligning these parts.
Step 5
Fit the outer sill panel, and then attach it at its future location. Now you can weld on the threshold. It is necessary to start this procedure from its top in order to avoid large gaps.
Step 6
Thoroughly clean the welds and putty them, then prime and paint the threshold itself. The doors on the car can only be put on after the paint has completely dried.
