Sometimes car owners are faced with the problem of transporting long items - skis, non-separable fishing rods, cornices, plastic sewer pipes, etc. Models of trunks presented in car dealerships are very expensive, so you can make a trunk yourself.

A measuring tool, a grinder, a drill, a piece of sheet metal, an angle or channel, 4 bolts with wing nuts, a welding machine, scissors, a piece of thick paper, a strip of rubber, glue and a can of paint
Instructions
Step 1
We take measurements on the roof of the car. We measure the distance between the stiffeners and cut off two blanks for the trunk crossbars from the steel corner with a grinder.
Step 2
Cut out a template of racks from paper for installing the trunk. We transfer it to a sheet of metal. Cut out with a grinder along the contour.
Step 3
We weld the cross member to the uprights. We try on the roof, bending the racks, achieving a stable position.
Step 4
We make a template for the side mounts of the trunk from thick paper. We transfer it to a sheet of metal and cut it out with a grinder.
Step 5
Trying on the whole structure on the roof. We outline the holes for connecting the racks and side mounts. We drill holes and insert the bolts.
Step 6
We clean the welded seams with emery cloth, as well as the edges of the metal parts. Degrease the surface and let it dry. We paint the trunk in the color of the car with a spray paint can. We leave the product for several hours in a closed room, excluding the ingress of dust and leaves.
