When using a UAZ car for multi-day trips, the space inside the cabin and trunk at night turns into a sleeping compartment. All travel supplies are moved to the roof rack. If available, of course. In addition, the roof rack is useful for transporting oversized, polluting and other cargo that is somehow unsuitable for transportation in the cabin.

- 1. Pipes 20x20x1.5 in the amount of 24 m
- 2. Pipes 25x28x1.5 in the amount of 7.5 m
- 3. Pipes 15x15x1.5 in the amount of 1.5 m
- 4. Fastening plates, welding wire, nuts, bolts, amplifiers.
- 5. Paint.
Instructions
Step 1
To complete the lower perimeter of the trunk and vertical struts at the corners, take pipes measuring 28x25. The vertical struts reinforcing the side walls of the trunk are made of 15x15 pipes. Take the rest of the pipes 20x20. Install the 20x20 pipe forming the base on the rib to give maximum rigidity to the structure. And weld them at a distance of no more than 220 mm so that you can safely stand with your feet on the trunk.
Step 2
Make the corner racks of the trunk hollow inside, and weld the nuts along the edges. They come in handy for installing on the trunk of a tent. To add strength to the structure, weld reinforcements to these hollow posts.
Step 3
The size of the inside of the trunk is selected taking into account the UAZ brand and the size of the tent being installed. So for a two-person tent, a size of 1440x1900 mm will fit.
Step 4
Install the additional headlight unit on the front of the trunk. The optimal kit that a chandelier can consist of should include four main headlights, two spotlights, a loudspeaker and a pneumatic horn. In front of the additional headlight unit, provide for the attachment of the branch bumpers.
Step 5
At the rear of the trunk, install the reversing light brackets so that the headlights themselves are located between the trunk and the roof.
Step 6
In addition, provide a mounting bracket for the CB antenna. The wiring must be routed inside the pipes. Therefore, take care in advance of the necessary technological holes and wire for pulling wires.
Step 7
To securely attach the roof rack without welding, install two 5mm metal plates with threaded holes on the ceiling inside the passenger compartment. Punch the required number of 9mm holes in the roof. To ensure a tight fit of the inner plate, coat it with mastic. Place plastic spacers between the luggage supports and the roof from the outside and bolt them together using a sealing compound.
