Step 1
Park the vehicle on a level surface. Rock the car several times, pushing down firmly on the wing several times to evenly distribute the load on the vehicle struts. If the load is unevenly distributed, then small distortions are formed on the body that are invisible to the naked eye. Driving a car with such distortions can further cause cracks and stretching of the metal.
Step 2
Select the type of rack you want to install. You can buy a regular four-blade metal roof rack. You need to buy a model designed for installation on the Kalin family. Attempting to remodel and install a trunk from another vehicle will result in geometry misalignment, which could lead to an accident.
Step 3
Open all four doors. Remove the upper rubber pad by freeing the edge of the body. Place the trunk on the lid, adjusting it exactly in the middle. Begin to tighten the fasteners gradually. Under no circumstances should one of the fasteners be tightened immediately to the stop! It is necessary to gradually tighten each of the four bolts evenly so as not to overtighten or install the rack with a roll.
Step 4
There is a more modern version of the trunk - roof rails. They are much more practical as they are made of durable alloy. Rust does not form under the railing feet. It should be noted that you can adjust the distance between the two installed rails, as well as their number. The heavier the load, the more planks you need to install.
Step 5
Purchase a set of universal roof rails. They can be easily installed on any roof width. The mounting scheme is similar to installing a regular trunk. Care must be taken to ensure that the distance from the edge of the body to each leg is the same.
Step 6
Install special locks. They will be able to prevent theft of your trunk. Installing such locks is mandatory if you leave your car on the street.
